Awww everyone, check out this incredibly creative video that Vietnamese fans made for Westlife. It’s their own version of Westlife’s CHOON “Beautiful World” thanking them for 14 years. Well done to everyone involved, you should be very proud! :)

It brought tears to me and it looks like it wasn’t just me… ;) … Such a sweet tweet from Marky to the creators of the video. Hopefully all the lads will see it. <3

BOYBAND Westlife have signed a get-well card and sent a bag of presents to the stabbed fan saved from fatal injuries by one of their programmes.

The 15-year-old girl used the 36-page glossy souvenir to block some of the blows when junkie Stephen Williams attacked her in Norwich.

The fan, who cannot be named, was returning from a Westlife concert at London’s O2.

Williams, 33, has been sentenced to seven years’ jail.

Norfolk Constabulary detective constable Graham Finney with a selection of the Westlife merchandise that the group sent for a 15 year old girl who was saved by her concert programme when stabbed in a street robbery.

Members of the Irish band Westlife have tried to help put a smile back on the face of a 15-year-old girl who was stabbed during a robbery by sending her a goody bag.

The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, and a woman, aged 20, had been to a Westlife concert at the O2 arena in London on May 12, and arrived back in Norwich at about 2.20am on May 13.

They were followed by Stephen Williams, 33, of Mousehold Street, Norwich, who demanded the girl’s bag and stabbed her five or six times.
The teenager, who was cut on the chest, abdomen and wrist, was spared more serious injury after the knife plunged into a Westlife tour programme she had taken home from the concert.
The Norwich Evening News contacted Sony Music, one of the band’s labels, who, through Bravado International Group, have sent a goody bag packed with programmes, merchandise and other items for the girl.

A Norfolk Constabulary spokesman said: “We are grateful to Archant [the publishers of the Norwich Evening News] for taking the time to approach Westlife’s management about this incident.

“The goody bag they have sent to us as a result of this action will, we hope, go some way to helping the victim overcome her terrifying ordeal and bring some form of closure on this part of her life.”

Det Con Graham Finney will now pass on the goody bag to the victim and said he was delighted with the gesture which he thinks will help the victim as she tries to move on. He said: “It’s nice to see people have made an effort to doing something for her. Taking the trouble to do that is brilliant.

“I know how much this will mean to her.”

Last month Williams was sentenced to seven years and four months in prison with an extension of three years to the period he must remain on licence.

Sentencing him, Recorder Alexander Milne, QC, referred to the offence as the “top category of street robbery” and said, in terms of the teenage victim, the “fact that no major organ, artery or tendon were damaged was a matter purely of good luck, nothing more than that”.

‘Westlife saved her life’: Programme from boyband’s gig helps shield fan from knife attack after show

By Louie Smith

A girl of 15 stabbed repeatedly by a crazed mugger on her way home from watching Westlife was saved by her concert programme.

The teenager was walking from a coach station after a performance by the Irish boyband when she was attacked by heroin addict Stephen Williams, 33.

He stabbed her up to six times with a 10in kitchen knife, a court heard but she managed to block some of the blows with the 36-page glossy book.

Williams has now been jailed for seven years and four months.

His victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, needed stitches but has recovered from her injuries.

After the case, Det Con Graham Finney said: “The girl has Westlife to thank for saving her life.”

He added: “This was an extremely traumatic experience for the young teenage victim who only hours before had been enjoying a pop concert in London.

“The victim’s injuries could have been a lot worse had she not instinctively protected herself using the concert programme.

“One shudders to think what would’ve happened if that hadn’t been between her and the knife. She was very lucky.

“Williams committed this offence with no concern for his victim.”

The girl and her 20-year-old sister watched Westlife perform at London’s O2 Arena during the group’s farewell tour in May and then travelled by coach back home to Norwich – but as they walked from the station to their house, Williams began stalking them.

And when they took a shortcut down an alleyway he ran towards them brandishing the knife and yelled: “Give me all your bags,” Norwich crown court heard.

Ben Brighouse, prosecuting, described the victim as “slight” and “petite”.

He added: “They saw him running at them at speed. He was holding a large kitchen knife.”

The terrified 15-year-old desperately tried to hand over her bag but it caught on her shoulder.

Williams tried to stab her in the chest, abdomen and wrist but she used her £20 Westlife programme in a plastic bag to deflect the attack.

She suffered a 5cm long wound to the side of her chest, a 5cm incision in her abdomen and a 7cm slash on her wrist.

Williams, of Norwich, was arrested after CCTV showed him fleeing the scene.

He admitted robbery at an earlier hearing before being sentenced.

Recorder Alexander Milne QC said: “The fact that no major organ, artery or tendon was damaged was a matter purely of good luck, nothing more than that.”

He made an order for Williams to remain on licence for an additional three years after serving his prison sentence.

Pop stars Shane Filan, 33, Mark Feehily, 32, Kian Egan, 32, and Nicky Byrne, 33, disbanded Westlife in June after their final series of concerts.

The group, who were managed by X Factor judge Louis Walsh and previously included fifth member Brian McFadden, 32, had 14 UK No1 singles.

So I’m back home after some incredible days seeing Westlife in Glasgow and Dublin… Words don’t come easy at the moment, mixed feelings and SO much pride for these four Irish lads that have given us 14 amazing years that we will remember forever.

I’m so sad Westlife are not together anymore, it’s hard to stop the tears but I understand their decision and respect it. I am so thankful for everything they’ve given us, fans, over the years. Music, tours, laughs, tears and friendships that we wouldn’t have had, as well as helping us through hard days in our lives. Westlife will live on through all the songs, the memories, the videos, the pictures, the interviews and everything they’ve created those 14 years.

My all time fear since becoming a fan of Westlife in 1999 was seeing the members of the band falling out with each other and losing respect for each other so I am relieved to see them going their separate ways as four friends, four people who will be looking back to their Westlife days with a smile and will be proud of what they’ve achieved and how they made sure they respected the relationship between them.

What can I say about the last Croke Park concert… I’ve never seen a crowd so passionate about Westlife. You know, going to a Westlife concert there are many people who are huge fans of Westlife and there are people who are not necessarily ‘fans’ but love them and their music and go to see them. Croke Park felt like it was FULL of 85.000 FANS. Full of people who share the passion and love for Westlife, who know the lyrics to all the songs by heart and who wanted to give Westlife the biggest send off. It was all so emotional, so intense, I will never forget that night. Seeing the lads saying their goodbyes and hugging each other was heartbreaking, you could feel the energy of both the lads and the crowd. I have to admit when they first announced their split I was considering not going to their last ever concert as I didn’t know how I would cope. Truth to be said, I didn’t cope too well, a lot of crying during ballads but thankfully I had many lovely mates around me to give me hugs and I am so glad that I decided to go, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and I know I would have regretted it if I wasn’t there.

I’m extremely proud of Westlife and I will never thank them enough for everything they’ve given me. Kian, Mark, Nicky and Shane, thank you for 14 years full of excitement, happy moments, emotional days, that’s more than half of my life. You are so talented and you are all lovely down-to-earth people as well, that’s why you’ve made all this work so well. I want to wish all four of you BEST LUCK with the new chapter of your lives, I hope it will bring to you even more than you wish for or dream of both in your personal lives and your careers. I have been a fan of you all from the early days and I will keep supporting each one of you in the future. You’ve made my Westlife dreams come true and I’ve lived moments I never thought I would in my life.

I will miss Westlife, I already do… but if any of the four of you ever reads this, know that there is a girl in Greece (or anywhere I might be in the future) who loves and supports you all no matter what and I’m sure there are many many fans all around the world sharing the same feeling.

Thank you my lads,
love you forever…

Hiya everyone!

The time is here again for me!! :) I’m leaving Greece to go and see our wonderful Westlife lads live in Glasgow and Dublin. That means I will be away for about 10 days and I’m not sure whether I will be able to update the site.

What can I say, part of me is like ‘Yeeeey I will see them again!!’ and that makes me looking forward to the Glasgow concerts and being SO excited. And then the other part says ‘Croke Park will mean the end of Westlife… :’( I don’t want it to come.’… So mixed feelings… It’s hard to believe that when I’ll be coming back there will be no more Westlife. Well, obviously, there will ALWAYS be Westlife through all the songs they’ve released over the years, their videos, DVDs, interviews and all the memories we will be keeping in our hearts and minds. <3

I can't thank these four lads enough for everything they've given us fans since they started... I'm so freaking proud of them!

Ok I chin up now, bring on Glasgow! LOVE YOU WESTLIFE!! 8)

Hugs and much love to you all fabulous visitors of Westlife.GR too :) , I'm so grateful of all the love and support you've shown this site from the start. THANK YOU ALL... If you're going to see the lads live too, enjoy!!

A COALISLAND woman’s dream was made a reality when a chance meeting between her dad and the brother-in-law of Westlife’s Nicky Byrne in a bar, led to her getting up close and personal with the boyband members at their farewell concert on Tuesday night.

Colleen Skeffington, who travelled to the concert at the Odyssey in Belfast with her sister, aunt and fiance, told the Tyrone Times she was “really chuffed” to be given the once in a lifetime opportunity to meet her pop idols.

“Daddy was talking to Nicky’s brother-in-law in a bar as his family is from the same direction as where Daddy lives”, Collen explains.

“Daddy said to him, ‘My girls are going to the concert in the Odyssey and have never missed one, and would there be any chance of arranging a meet and greet with the boys?’

“We rang the man on the day of the concert, Tuesday, and he said he would ring Nicky to see if the band were doing any meet and greets, but he said he didn’t think so. However, Nicky then told him he would arrange for us to get to meet the band, which was absolutely fantastic!”

Colleen and her family were among only approximately 10 people out of a concert audience of some 8,000 who were allowed to pose for photographs with their heroes, and she has kindly allowed the Times to publish the images from her dream night.

“We were really chuffed to be able to meet the boys in person”, Colleen continued, “although we were quite nervous on the day of the concert and on the drive up to Belfast.

“But when it came to actually meeting them, it was just like they were ordinary people. They were all lovely, really nice and friendly.

“My fiance, Matt, was taking photos and I just told him to keep snapping! The concert itself was amazing, the band put on a really good show, it was a big combination of all the years.

“They were on stage for about two hours, which is longer than normal, and at times it was very sad as it was one of their last. My sister, Caoimhe, shed a tear or two, but I managed to hold it together!”

Westlife announced last year that they will go their separate ways, after 14 years together, and will play their last ever concert at Croke Park in Dublin next month.

Their closing gig will be screened at cinemas across the globe in countries including South Africa, Finland and the Netherlands.

The boys, who were originally signed by Simon Cowell and managed by Louis Walsh, have topped the UK charts 14 times.

AFTER more than 14 years of idolising Westlife, one fan finally got to meet her idols.

It was almost the last chance for Heidi Witherington, from Hemel Hempstead, to meet the famous boyband when she went to their concert at The Motorpoint Arena, in Cardiff.

The group is disbanding after 16 years so the 34-year-old mum and her pal booked into St David’s Hotel, where the boyband were staying, and couldn’t believe her luck when she met Westlife’s Nicky Byrne there.

She had her photograph taken with the star and he also signed a teddy bear for her.

She said: “We stood outside the hotel for three hours when he turned up. There were only a few fans there. I was thinking ‘oh my God’ and was shaking when he posed for the picture.”

Before the concert the following day, Heidi met the rest of the band and had her T-shirt and CD signed by Nicky, Kian and Shane.

She said: “A meet and greet costs about £425 but having a bit of patience meant it cost me nothing.”
