Hello everyone! :’) First of all I want to apologize for disappearing for SO long. Ever since Westlife announced their break-up I’ve been trying to decide what would happen with Westlife.GR. Having a fansite for the lads has been a dream of mine ever since I was at school and I was visiting other fansites myself such as “Westlife – a Site For Sore Eyes” which was my inspiration to start creating this site once I finished school. I have received SO much love for this site that I couldn’t believe it myself, I still can’t and I want to say a HUGE thank you to each and everyone of you for that. All you visitors have been so amazing, it was so great to see you loved the site and all those messages of support have been so touching – I still get teary eyed realising all the love I have received thanks to this site. I also couldn’t believe it when I heard Mark Feehily mentioning this site. It still feels surreal that they know about it. It felt like I was dreaming when he mentioned it on Westlife’s Webchat back in 2011 and then when the lads surprised me on my Birthday in Manchester last year during the concert. I feel so honored and like the goal of making this site a place fans would love visiting to share their love for Westlife and know about them was in a way achieved. This site is very important to me and this is why it’s so hard to make a final decision. The thing is, what happens now? Since the lads’ split on 23 June 2012 I’ve been trying to test how this could work out. The ideal solution would be to have 4 separate sites for each Kian, Mark, Nicky and Shane – which unfortunately is something I can’t do because of work commitments as I have a full-time job that takes most of my time. Thankfully as some of you probably already know I co-own Mark-Feehily.Net with Nat which we update on a daily basis and it feels so good to be able and have that place to be supporting Marky. I decided to keep Westlife.GR open but it will not keep being updated as much as it used to – with all the up-to-date pictures additions, videos, magazines, interviews and so on. Running one site for four different careers would basically be like running four different sites which unfortunately is not something I have the time to be doing anymore. :’( The decision I’ve made for the time being is that I will only be adding the most important news about Kian, Mark, Nicky and Shane’s careers here. Sadly that means there will not be daily updates or all the new pictures and videos of the lads. Closing the site though wouldn’t feel right to me. It means too much to just close it but at the same time it makes me sad that it will not be what it used to be anymore. I hope you all understand my decision, I wish I didn’t have to work and then I could have all the time in the world to have 4 different sites for each of the lads and would be updating them with all the love I have for them but life is not easy and I’m one of the lucky people in Greece – with all the crisis situation – to actually have a job. The best would be to be able to make what I love – aka updating my sites – my job too heh, but that’s not possible obviously so I will have to settle with this decision that doesn’t make me happy but it’s the best out of the options I had. Thank you all for every message, every email, every sweet word, every visit and all the love for this site, and of course thank you to Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne and Shane Filan for all the extremely exciting and happy moments they have given me and all the fans. <3 I know this decision might disappoint some of you - I'm disappointed myself so I totally understand how you feel - I hope you will sometimes be remembering the good old Westlife.GR with all the updates. You never know, if Westlife ever come back it might become the way it used to be again. Ok I'm being all teary at the moment so I'll leave you for now with a big hug! Keep supporting Kian, Mark, Nicky and Shane! Much love, |

According to Pollstar, the top grossing act last year was Madonna, who brought her MDNA tour to the Aviva Stadium in July. She earned $296.1 million last year (€227 million) from 88 dates across the world. The second highest grossing tour was Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band with $210 million (€170 million). A regular visitor to Ireland, Springsteen played two shows at the RDS last summer and is due to play four more in Cork, Limerick and Belfast this year. Former Pink Floyd member Roger Waters’ The Wall tour was third with a concert gross of $186.4 million (€142.9 million). He is bringing his scaled-up Wall tour to the Aviva this year. The Rolling Stones appeared on the top 50 despite only playing five shows last year to mark the band’s 50th anniversary. Their three shows at the O2 in London and two in New Jersey grossed $35.5 (€27.2 million), giving an average gross for each show of €5.44 million. They also had, by some distance, the most expensive tickets. The average price for a ticket to their shows, which attracted a great deal of flack for the band, was $529.51 (€405.50) each. A surprising edition to the list is English comedian Michael McIntyre who earned $33.9 (€26 million) from his UK and Ireland tour last year. Credit/Source: irishtimes.com |

Westlife singer Kian Egan has told of how he’s enjoying living a “normal life” since the band retired. ‘The Voice’ coach has embarked on a presenting career since the popular music group hung up their microphones last summer. Egan splits his time between Ireland and the UK with wife Jodi Albert and their son, Koa, who celebrated his first birthday on December 20. The father of one told the Irish Independent that he’s adapting well without the band and can’t wait to embrace more of life’s simple pleasures, like making a cup of tea and putting his son to bed at night. “Life is at a nice pace now. I’m not travelling as much and I’m getting to spend more time with Koa and Jodi, which is amazing,” he said. “But I’m still working hard. It’s a shift in life, but feels good. I’m looking forward to settling down that little bit more again and having a normal life because since I was 17, before Westlife, I haven’t had that. “I want to wake up at home every day and spend time with my family.” After a successful stint on ‘The Xtra Factor’ and ITV’s ‘This Morning’, Egan has been taking on more work in TV. In what may be his biggest project yet, the 33-year-old was in the US with an ITV crew in December to film a programme which explores American music of the south. He also admitted that he and wife Jodi would love to have more children in the future. “Fatherhood is amazing. It surpasses anything else you’ve ever done,” he said. “We definitely do want more kids down the line, as we wouldn’t want Koa to be an only child — but not yet.” Credit/Source: belfasttelegraph.co.uk |

Westlife’s Kian Egan has revealed he would love to host his own cookery TV show. The singer – who lives with his former Hollyoaks star wife Jodi Albert and one-year-old son Koa – has been doing a lot of TV presenting since Westlife split and would love to combine his new career with his love of cooking. Kian revealed: “I’ve always been the chef in our house, it’s something I really enjoy doing. I love the satisfaction of cooking a nice meal for people. “I’ve talked about a food show to quite a few people – any kind of food show that comes up I’d love to be a part of it. “I’m experimental, I get out my cook books and learn bits and pieces here and there, and then I won’t look at a cook book for six months and I’ll be putting the ingredients that I’ve learned about together. My weekly shop starts to expand and get a bit more exotic, rather than just the bog standard things I used to cook a few years ago.” Credit/Source: belfasttelegraph.co.uk |

Byline: EMMA MCMENAMY irishsundaymirror@mgn.ie FORMER Westlife singer Kian Egan has revealed he wants to play James Bond on the big screen. The boyband star, who is one of the mentors on The Voice, said he used to take acting classes as a child and would love to sink his teeth into an interesting movie role. The 32-year-old revealed he has already met with well-known directors but his dream role would be to play the secret agent. The dad-of-one said: “I did loads of acting as a kid. I have gone for meetings and met loads of directors and it’s just a matter of going for a few auditions and seeing if the shoe fits. “My dream role would be something action-packed. Maybe James Bond. I could be the second Irish actor to play him. “There was talk about me going out to LA for a pilot session in January but I can’t do it now as I already have plans that can’t be broken. “But look, who knows what will happen, I will chance my arm at anything.” And Kian said he has no ambition at the moment to launch a solo career. He added: “I’m not running after a solo career. I’m working on bits and pieces but more for myself. I don’t really feel like I want to make a record and put out an album yet. “I just want to let things flow and see how they go. “I want to muck around and do it more for myself. If it’s good and sounds great then so be it. Everything I’m involved in at the moment seems to be more television orientated. I seem to be doing loads of TV work in the UK. There just seems to be things coming my way all the time. “I’m going out next week to do 10 days on the music scene in southern America. The show, Rhythm and Chews, will see me going around the music scene there and meeting the musicians involved. “I love doing shows like that, at the end of the day I’m just doing things that I love. It’s great.” But Kian said he has ruled out ever doing a fly-on-the-wall reality show – although if it involved surfing or something he loved he might consider it. Kian added: “I would have to do a reality show that was based on something I was really interested in. I couldn’t just have a camera on us in our house. “The typical reality show of a camera coming into our house and watching me cook dinner and argue with my wife wouldn’t be an option, I wouldn’t go there, hell no.” And the Flying Without Wings singer said himself and wife Jodi have no plans to have any more children just yet. He admitted his son Koa, who is one-year-old in a few weeks, is enough of a handful at the moment. Kian said: “We will slow it down a bit. Jodi wants to get back to work first. She wants to do acting and singing.” Credit/Source: Irish Sunday Mirror – Published on 2.December.2012 |

SISTERSITE: for more Mark updates you can visit Mark-Feehily.Net. BY MARK KAVANAGH Westlife star Mark Feehily has secretly been recording his first solo album in the Irish music studios used by Michael Jackson before his death. Mark (32) has been quietly recording in Grouse Lodge Studios in Co Westmeath — used by the Thriller singer in 2006. He and Shane Filan (33) are the only two members of Westlife going solo, and while Shane works on a record deal in London, Mark has been enjoying the solitude of Grouse Lodge. Mark has revealed he’s determined not to fade into obscurity. “I didn’t want Westlife to end so I could make a solo record, but it’s something I will do now,” he said. “In order to be happy in life I’m going to have to create.” And he insists there’s no way of predicting who will be the big solo star from Westlife. He said: “It’s only when we make music that it will be more apparent.” Credit/Source: thestar.ie |
